Saints Louis and Zélie Martin were a French Catholic couple canonized together by Pope Francis in 2015, becoming the first married couple to be recognized as saints in this way. They are best known as the parents of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux.

Louis Martin (1823–1894), a watchmaker and jeweler, and Zélie Guérin (1831–1877), a talented Alençon lace maker, married in 1858. Both had once hoped for religious life but instead built a deeply faith-filled marriage. They had nine children in 13 years, four of whom died young. Their five surviving daughters all entered religious life, including the youngest, Saint Thérèse. The Martins attended daily Mass, practiced charity, and raised their family with joy and holiness amid trials such as illness and loss. Zélie died of breast cancer in 1877, and Louis passed in 1894. Their feast day is celebrated on July 12.

Every thread, a prayer.
Every logo, a litany.

Thread pressed into fabric isn't printed and forgotten; it's built to last, to be felt, to mean something. Just as the saints lived with quiet, enduring faithfulness, embroidery endures. It doesn't fade with the first wash or crack with time. It stays. And when you wear a saint's name over your heart, that permanence matters.
